friday mornings.

I love waking up early Friday mornings with my fiance. I get him off to work by 6 AM, grab a cup of coffee and sit with my laptop reading my usual blogs. This morning I came across a new blog I wanted to share. She has great style and fun pictures of interior spaces you can just picture yourself living in.

I found this picture on her site that I am totally in LOVE with! If anyone knows me well, they sure know I'm the queen of over-sized sweaters (for this winter anyway!) The bare legs are a little much for me- but add some black leggings and tall knee boots = perfection!

* I also wanted to give a shout out to all the staff (especially the chef, Asher Miller) at 20.21 Restaurant. Thank you for going above and beyond and letting us have a truly unique experience.

banana cupcakes.

Today's cupcake: Banana cupcakes with honey-cinnamon frosting

I feel that because these "cupcakes" have bananas in them, they could be eaten for breakfast and all throughout the day as a "healthy" snack- okay, nice try...but they are SO yummy and taste just like banana bread with an added kick of sweetness and spice due to the frosting.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup of sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups (about 4) ripe bananas, along with a whole banana for the garnish on top
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract.

Honey-cinnamon frosting:
1 1/4 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter @ room temp.
1 tbsp. honey
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix into a bowl flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Make a circle in the middle of the four...put melted butter, mashed banana eggs and vanilla into circle. stir the mixtures into each other, but be careful to not over mix.
Spoon into a lined muffin pan.

Bake for about 25-30 min. They will be done once a toothpick comes out of the center clean.
Remove the cucpcakes from the pan and let cool completely.

Once cooled, place the honey-cinnamon frosting on top and place a slice of banana as a little garnish.

keeping it real.

The Spring neutrals are making a come back. Put away the dark grays & blacks and put on the ivory, creams, beige's and taupe's. I've seen these colors coming in just about any price range and all designers. Nude shoes, to creamy beige lip gloss. This light colored Spring pallet looks great with a tan, so bring on the sun!

beauty favorites.

We can all admit that the beauty aisles at Target are a danger zone. You always end up spending much more than what you need and lets face it...you probably didn't need that 100th lip gloss added into your collection, but who's counting anyway?

I love coming away from a girls night wanting to try the new "best" beauty product that I just will DIE without having. Isn't that what your girlfriends are for? Sharing fun beauty tips is a must and here are some of my current favorites:

dermalogica, special cleansing gel $33

a new tradition.

Starting today, and every Thursday from here on out I am going to feature a yummy cupcake. I absolutely adore cupcakes (everything about them) and throughout my searches on the web, I come across too many fun, unique ideas not to share.

Today's choice of cupcake: Snowman cupcakes

Don't you just LOVE this?
Start out by making your favorite cupcake (out of a box) either chocolate or vanilla. Frost with vanilla/butter cream icing (something white for the snow affect) You can also sprinkle shaved coconut for an added snow effect.
For the hat: use either a chocolate covered mint (Junior Mint) or a Milk Dud would work too!
His body: made of marshmallows-cut a small piece off the top and squish onto bottom one to make smaller.
Use little bits of icing to hold everything together.
His eyes: little black/brown sprinkles. Insert a wet toothpick into marshmallow beforehand.
His nose: cut from a gummy fish.

Happy Baking!

clutter free.

I would say I'm a very organized person, but there are certian things in my life that tend to get thrown in drawers/bins here and there. Jewelry I believe IS the worst! I don't even know what I have anymore. Here to help-some fun, creative ways to make your jewelry organized and clutter free.

Loved this idea! Putting your jewelry in different tea cup and saucer dishes. You can find old tea cup and saucers at your local thrift store for relatively cheap.

Vintage frames or old windows work great for displaying your jewelry. Take the frame /old window, and purchase some mesh screen at your local home store. Take a sturdy staple gun to the back to secure the screen into place and hang up all your earrings to be displayed perfectly.

Use an old egg crate to seperate out necklaces, earrings and bracelets. You can find the ones pictured above here!

Fun drawer knobs create a necklace masterpiece. Drill into a piece of wood or directly into your closet/bathroom wall to have your necklaces hang without becoming tangled in each other. Anthropologie has THE best dresser knobs to choose from.

...and we are back.

Sorry about the past 2 (okay, maybe 3) week M.I.A. business. I really felt a need to get on the ball with our wedding planning. We have set a date for July 8th, 2011 and have a little under 6 months to get everything perfect! (I just cannot wait to be married to him)

In my period of breaks I took in between flipping through wedding magazines (to stay sane) I flipped through fashion magazines and websites. I noticed a lot of designers making "fashionable" comfort clothing. Now we can all look good, while still staying cozy!
Here are a few of my favorites:

Ink Well Hoodie

Long & Lean Chemise

American Apparel Unisex Short Sleeve, Deep V Tee

So Low Contrast Fold Over Pant
